Fred Turner is a respected political consultant who has served as U.S. Senator Bob Menendez’s chief of staff since 2014. He manages more than 50 employees and oversees a yearly budget of approximately $3.4 million. Fred Turner guides the full range of staff operations for offices in both New Jersey and Washington, DC.
Mr. Turner’s responsibilities as chief of staff include advising Senator Menendez on the political and policy implications of press statements, votes and other events. He also supervises the activities of key personnel, such as the administrative director, the communications director, and the staff director of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee.
In his previous role as chief of staff of the U.S. Commission on Security and Cooperation in Europe (U.S. Helsinki Commission), Mr. Turner led 18 staff members spanning two continents. He promoted human rights and economic growth, and served as principal liaison to the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly. Mr. Turner has a passion for reading and considers Gabriel Garcia Marquez novels among his favorites.
