Hi I'm Freek!

I am an IT/Data Trainee at YoungCapital NEXT looking for an assignment to apply my skills and interests in data analysis/engineering to.

I've recently kickstarted my traineeship by completing the bootcamp where I've learned more about (big) data. Together with my colleague trainees I built a model, built an API to talk to the model, deployed that using Azure*, and used it all to supply another colleagues' low-code application with the results. Along the way I learned to work with (Microsoft) SQL, databases, and Azure and expanded my knowledge on Python, APIs, and data analysis.

Besides these hard skills this project also allowed me to learn more about cooperation, within and outside of the Scrum framework. It showed me what kind of role I naturally take on and what the benefits of it are as well as what I can work on improving. Some of my other qualities that helped me in this field so far are my passion for problem-solving, curiosity, precision, and my drive to keep improving myself.

Lastly, I’d like to tell you a bit about what I like to do with my free time. Listening to music is something I really enjoy. Thanks to also playing piano myself, I rarely go a day without it, and I hope to find a choir to sing in soon now that the pandemic seems to calm down. With my girlfriend and friends, I like to play (board/card) games as they are really fun ways to engage with problem-solving, strategy, and obviously the people you play with!
