Freeman Derrik

Urology, Doctor, and Personal Trainer in Topeka Kansas

I’m Freeman. I'm a urologic surgeon and men's health advocate who has dedicated my career to revolutionizing prostate cancer treatment through robotic surgery. My journey in medicine began under extraordinary circumstances—fleeing Iran's revolution as a teenager, I crossed continents in pursuit of education and ultimately found my calling in healing.

After earning my medical degree from SUNY Stony Brook, I trained at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center and pioneered the SMART surgical technique—my innovative approach to robotic prostatectomy that minimizes trauma and maximizes recovery. As the former Chairman of Urology at Lenox Hill Hospital, I've had the privilege of building one of the nation's most advanced robotic surgery programs while maintaining one of the largest personal surgical practices in New York.

Today, I serve as Director of Men's Health at St. Francis Hospital, where I continue to push the boundaries of minimally invasive surgery. Beyond the operating room, I'm passionate about educating men and their families—whether through my medical contributions on national media or through direct patient care.

My story—from political refugee to leading surgeon—fuels my commitment to making world-class urologic care accessible and understandable for all. I believe the future of medicine lies at the intersection of cutting-edge technology and compassionate, personalized care.
