Who is FResTiLe?
A Washington DC native, FResTiLe (aka LaFre Little), grew up with a passion for music at an early age and was regularly supported and encouraged to sing by her single parent mother. "I remember lying on the floor with my ear pressed up against the stereo speakers listening very carefully to how songs were put together vocally and instrumentally by the likes of Barry White, Curtis Mayfield and Isaac Hayes," FResTiLe says.
In today's male dominated music industry where music tracks are mostly created by men, not many female artists can say that they are a Singer, Songwriter, Music Producer and Independent Recording Artist, but FResTiLe can. A true testament to her debut album "Born Capricorn" (Nominated for Best Urban Contemporary Recording, WAMA Awards) where, she wrote, produced, arranged, performed, recorded and mixed her entire project. Derek Sivers, The founder of CDBaby loved the CD so much, he featured it on the FRONT PAGE of the site for a few days with his own personal review.
FResTiLe, a multi-talented entertainer honed her craft at the renowned Duke Ellington school of the Arts as a vocal music major. At Duke Ellington, she would become friends with another Washington, DC native (Meshell Ndegeocello) who also produces her music and has shown FResTiLe a thing or two around a recording studio.
What's next for FResTiLe? She is currently writing and recording new tracks for her sophomore album to be released sometime in the near future and everyone can expect more of a Rock/Soul edgier vibe. Once again, giving you the opportunity to sit back, relax and enjoy the sounds of her uniquely crafted musical recipe.
