Her Writing Journey

Freya Cesare’s writing journey began long before she ever published her first chapter. Her earliest fiction project, Silent Scream, was drafted in 2016 and shared briefly on her personal blog. It was her first experiment in storytelling, even though it did not yet find the audience she hoped for. At that time, her poetry and Islamic articles drew steady traffic, while her fiction remained quietly unseen.

Everything changed in mid 2022.

Freya released the first chapter of My Beautiful Blue Rain around July 2022 in her native language, and for the first time, her fiction resonated widely. The novel won a publishing contract on August 22, 2022, marking her official entry into serialized fiction. It quickly became her breakthrough work, attracting significant readership and opening the door to a new phase of her writing life.

Soon after, she began publishing Flower of the Dragon, a story whose lore she had first created back in 2016. Despite its strong foundation and growing reader interest, the project eventually paused at 59 chapters. Writing two novels daily created a chaotic creative overlap where characters and plotlines began blending together, an experience both challenging and unforgettable.

Through early victories and creative detours, Freya continued building her readership. She reached a meaningful milestone that affirmed her voice and showed that her stories were finally finding their audience.

Her journey was not without pauses. A period of psychological stress and personal setbacks led to writer’s block and a retreat from publishing. Returning to writing became her way of reclaiming herself and continuing the stories that had once carried her through difficult days.

In early 2025, Freya discovered self-publishing and decided to take the leap. She began gathering the lore and stories she had collected throughout her life and started translating them into English. The process has been both rewarding and overwhelming, because the differences between Bahasa Indonesia and English can dramatically shift meaning. She chose to face the challenge with patience and determination, knowing that many worlds were waiting inside her.

Today, Freya writes across romance, mythic fantasy, and psychological thriller. She weaves interconnected universes that are driven by emotional depth, character insight, and themes of healing, myth, and human connection. She continues creating one chapter, one book, and one world at a time, growing from every beginning and every return.
