One of Frik De Meyere’s strengths has long been seeing opportunities where others see challenges. With a more than twenty-year career and a deep understanding of diverse markets, he leads Prime Belize Real Estate today, helping clients navigate Belize’s vibrant property landscape.

Frik grew up in a farming village near the Dutch border in Belgium. His academic journey took him to Ghent and Antwerp, where he earned information technology and emergency medical services degrees. Eager to expand his business knowledge, he pursued an MBA at Flanders Business School and later earned another MBA from the Kellogg School of Management in Chicago.

Before relocating to Belize, Frik developed a career in Europe, working across real estate development, information systems, cosmetics, food production, and construction. Over a decade, he led and invested in over twenty startup ventures, several of which went on to be acquired or merged with larger firms. Along the way, he completed the construction and sale of more than one hundred residential units, giving him a solid foundation in property development.

Frik’s connection to Belize began in 2004 during a business scouting trip with his partner, Ilse Van Keer. He recognized opportunities in the country’s real estate market and acquired properties. In 2011, he and his family relocated to Belize, where he joined BMA Real Estate in Placencia.

At that time, BMA was a small operation handling fewer than fifteen property transactions annually. Frik played a significant role in the firm’s growth. Under his leadership, annual transactions rose to over one hundred, and the team expanded to more than twenty professionals. The company also broadened its portfolio to include high-value listings, such as luxury beachfront homes and private islands, which drew buyers from North America and Europe.
