I serve as associate pastor at Grace Bible Fellowship of Silicon Valley and academic dean at the Cornerstone Bible College and Seminary.

Originally from Montana, I received my undergraduate degree from the Master’s College (Santa Clarita, CA) and my M.Div. and Ph.D. from The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary (Louisville, KY). I have experience in full time youth ministry and have held lay leadership positions in children’s ministry, men’s ministry, young adult ministry, and worship ministry. I previously served as the managing editor for the Journal of Discipleship and Family Ministry and have made contributions to academic and popular books, including Reformation Faith: Theology and Exegesis in the Protestant Reformation (UK: Paternoster, 2014) and Rescued by Grace (Xlibris: 2015). I've also written How to Pray for Your Pastor (GBF Press, 2016), and Strong and Courageous: The Character and Calling of Mature Manhood (GBF Press, 2017). I have also published book reviews and articles for The Gospel Coalition, Family Ministry Today, The Journal of Discipleship and Family Ministry, The Journal of Biblical Manhood and Womanhood, Credo Magazine, and have presented papers at the Evangelical Theological Society national meetings.

My wife and I have been blessed with three delightful children and we love to spend time reading, playing sports, riding bikes, hiking, and exploring the outdoors. When not spending time with my family, I can be found running or cycling around the San Francisco Bay Area.
