I am a lone TRANSGENDER soldier trying to change policies and bring awareness to businesses, including hospitals, as I come across the need.
I don't believe changes will happen, unless the people of society have someone they know is, or at least met someone who is transgender in their life. Sadly, when most people think of who is transgender, they think of the "freaks" that shows such as Jerry Springer aired in order to save their ratings.
I understand there are people out there who are super dysphoric and depressed about their situation. I know there are people out there who would consider killing themselves if they are outed as trans. Fortunately, I am not one of those people.
So because I don't mind telling the world that I was born female, that I used to be a girl, that I do in fact have large breasts under my flat-ish chest, telling people my legal (female) name in my deepest voice possible (which is deeper than my own comfort zone) when they give me a hard time about it - I am willing to be a voice and the face for those who can't.
I have heard/seen a lot of transmen be "for the fight" before they started passing, then once they saw how easy life became for them, stopped fighting. I am not that guy. In fact, my passion started AFTER I started passing.
I work hard fighting policies and bringing awareness, so the future generations of trans people do not need to. This is how I want to make the world a better place.
It's not easy for me. I don't always know what I am doing. Sometimes I do want to give up and say "screw it all" - but I can't. I don't want to give up that easy.
If you are also passionate about trans rights, please don't hesitate to send a message. Perhaps we can work together.
If you need someone to talk to, please don't hesitate to send a message.
