My favorite hobby is fishing, specifically deep sea fishing. We have a family friend who charters trips into the Gulf of Mexico, so we go as often as possible. One of these trips is stuck in my mind forever though, simply because I caught a sail fish. We were trolling behind the boat, which is when there is a line in the water while driving out into the ocean. Approximately two miles offshore, the rod bent over farther than what should be expected. That is a clear indication of a large, strong fish.
As I was fighting the power of whatever was on the other end of the line, all I wanted to do was see my adversary. I finally got that chance, because as we were all sitting on the boat watching, the sailfish jumped out of the water revealing itself and all its majesty. It was about six feet long, and one of the most beautiful fish I have ever seen. Unfortunately you are not allowed to keep them once you get them in the boat, but it was still an exciting experience and one of the most fun days I have had in Panama City Beach.
