Alhaji Fuzy Sabonkudi is a distinguished entrepreneur and philanthropist in Tamale, in the Northern Region of Ghana who hails from a lineage of prominence and generosity.
He is the son of the late Alhaji Yakubu Sabonkudi, a revered businessman and philanthropist who left an indelible mark on Tamale before his passing in 1970, and Hajia Salamatu Yakubu an avid business woman and daughter of the esteemed Alhaji Ibrahim Kpabia
As a triplet, Alhaji Fuzy shares a unique familial bond with his twin brother, Alhaji Alhasan Yakubu Sabonkudi, a prominent banker, and his sister, Hajia Asana Yakubu, who resides in New Jersey, USA. Growing up among more than twenty siblings, he learned early the values of unity, perseverance, and generosity.
Alhaji Fuzy’s educational journey began at Sakasaka Primary School, and later to Tamale Secondary School.
At eighteen, he embarked on an ambitious journey abroad, and for nearly two decades, studied and worked across Europe and Australia, thereby gaining a wealth of international experience while overcoming significant challenges through sheer determination and resolve.
Returning to Ghana, Alhaji Fuzy channelled his expertise and vision into business, founding Sabonkudi Estates Ltd, the premier estate development company in Northern Ghana. He also serves as CEO of Officepoint Ghana Ltd, a leading importer and distributor of mobile phones and computers.
Beyond his business accomplishments, Alhaji Fuzy is deeply committed to philanthropy. He has initiated and funded the construction of mosques, boreholes, sanitation facilities and schools across Tamale and beyond. He also provides assistance to the poor, the elderly, religious clerics, and the less priveleged in society.
Aside from his professional and philanthropic endeavors, Alhaji Fuzy Sabonkudi is a man of diverse interests and deep convictions. An avid reader, he enjoys immersing himself in literature that broadens his perspective. His passion for sports is evident in his love for boxing and football, while music and wildlife appreciation offer him relaxation and inspiration. A keen technophile, he is also enthusiastic about technology, staying abreast of the latest advancements at all times
In the political arena, Alhaji Fuzy maintains a non-partisan stance, steadfastly supporting truth and justice above all. This principled approach reflects his commitment to fairness and integrity in both public and private life.
Alhaji Fuzy is fluent in Dagbani, English, German, Dutch, Twi, and Hausa, allowing him to connect with diverse communities both locally and internationally. He is married to Hajia Sikena, a successful trader, and together they are blessed with eight children.
