An accomplished communications and public relations professional with over fifteen years of experience in public sector engagement, G. Ashley Johnson has worked extensively in the development of policy and partnership development with individuals and organizations in both the public and private sectors. His career of work in the public and private sectors has allowed for interaction with leadership with private corporations, academic institutions, civic organizations and public policy think-tanks.

Currently serving as Director of Community Affairs with the transportation/mobility equity non-profit LINK Houston, Ashley earned his B.B.A. in Marketing at Texas A&M University and began his career serving with the City of Houston, where he quickly rose in responsibility and was appointed a staff position within the Mayor’s Office and worked there until 2002. Follow work for two years with the non-profit organizations Project GRAD and the Topsfield Foundation’s Everyday Democracy, Ashley was hired in 2004 as a Political and Economic Affairs Officer with the Consulate General of Canada, where he served until 2014. In this capacity, Ashley functioned as an intergovernmental liaison and organizer of strategic engagement, building bilateral and North American partnerships and coalitions to address governmental issues of priority and advancing policy on trade and commerce. Prior to joining LINK Houston, Ashley served for two years as Communications Coordinator with the Houston Housing Authority.

Currently living in Houston’s Rice Military neighborhood near the Washington Corridor, Ashley is a committed husband of five years and an the active father of one daughter. In addition, he actively volunteers with charitable organizations across the Greater Houston area, and is and active member of the Houston alumni chapter of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Incorporated.
