I am a freelance journalist and media trainer. I was living and working in Juba (South Sudan) when conflict broke out on Dec 15, 2013; being 4 months pregnant, I was evacuated and relocated in my home town in Northern Italy. My son Sankara shares therefore my same birth place.

Former journalist fellow at the Reuters Institute for the Study of Journalism (University of Oxford) and staff reporter at Corriere della Sera, Italy.

Media trainer with a zest for unusual media landscapes (my first experience was in Juba, South Sudan, with The New Nation newspaper; the most recent challenge was a workshop in documentary film writing in Mandalay, Myanmar, with Polish Solidarity Fund/Fundacja Solidarności Międzynarodowej).

Co-creator of the first webdoc and role game about the capital city of South Sudan, Juba In The Making, winner of the Innovation in Development Reporting grant by the European Journalism Centre.

Contributing to various media outlets, from Corriere della Sera to pagina99, Donna Moderna, TellusFolio, UrbanAfrica and ChimeforChange. Blogging at someworlds: back in Juba, when time, Internet and power were available (which didn't happen very often); now, when baby Sankara allows me to do so (that is to say, never).
