Gabriela Raquel Ríos
I am an assistant professor of Writing and Rhetoric at the University of Central Florida, where I teach courses in cultural rhetorics, social justice, and multimodal composition.
I grew up in almost every border of Texas, sans the “border mecca”–-El Chuco (El Paso), TX. As a scholar who is invested in Indigenous Rhetorics and Indigenous communities, my own work pushes at disciplinary borders in order to better account for the range of meaning-making practices folks use to create social change. Ultimately, I aim to better understand how to unsettle the structures that create and sustain injustice.
I spend the rest of my time watching Korean novelas (K-Dramas).
