Gabriel Durand-Hollis, FAIA, RID, is president of Durand-Hollis Rupe Architects, Inc. in San Antonio, Texas. He is a Fellow of the American Institute of Architects ("AIA") and is the current AIA Treasurer. He is a candidate for First Vice President / President Elect of the AIA, 2016. His work was recently featured in the San Antonio Express-News.
Previously Durand-Hollis has served as the president of the Pan-American Federation of Associations of Architects (Federación Panamericana de Asociaciones de Arquitectos (FPAA).) In 2013, he was the only American architect chosen to be a juror for the 2016 Olympics master plan competition in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. He is fluent in English and Spanish, with some working knowledge of French and Portuguese.
Durand-Hollis has over 25 years of professional experience in design, master planning, programming, cost estimating and project management. In addition, his experience ranges from the renovation of the San Antonio International Airport to warehouse space planning, to governmental and high-rise office buildings.
Durand-Hollis has been a principal/owner since 1986 and resides in San Antonio, Texas.
