Gabrielle A. Kirk

Hello, I’m Gabrielle A. Kirk! I’m an Assistant Editor at Sunbury Press. I am also a freelance copyeditor and proofreader based out of NYC.

I have worked with Sunbury Press for over three years, editing over thirty titles, including Controlled Conversations by Karol Lagodzki—a top-three finalist for the 2024 PEN/Hemingway Award for Debut Novel.

I was selected as a mentee for the Penguin Random House Mentor Program for Prospective Copy Editors and Proofreaders. I received specialized training in industry-standard editorial practices, including expertise in Adobe markup, The Chicago Manual of Style and Merriam-Webster’s Dictionary.

I am readily available for copyediting, proofreading, cold reading, and slugging projects.
