Gabrielle Paulsen
Warren, NJ and Amherst, Ma
Hi everyone! My name ia Gabrielle and I am currently a junior accounting major at the Isenberg School of Managment at the University of Massachusetts- Amherst, anticipating to graduate in May 2015. Within Isenberg I am involved in the Women In Business Club, acting as a peer liason. The women in the club work to tackle such issues as work-life balance, effective negotiations and succeeding in business. As a peer liason I plan social events throughout the semester for the club members. Being a part of Women in Business allows me to get involved while also creating lasting friendships.
Originally, I am from South Shore Massachusetts but I moved to New Jersey after graduating high school. Outside of school I enjoy spending time with family, friends, and my two dogs, Snickers and Misty. My family and I are firm believers that dogs are part of the family, which lead us to get involved with Home for Good Dog Rescue. The organization is based in Summit, New Jersey and is "dedicated to rescuing dogs from deplorable conditions in kill shelters, tending to their physical needs and finding them a new loving home where they can thrive." My family and I foster these dogs while they are waiting to be adopted. As an animal lover, it makes me feel good to know that I am doing something to help these dogs get out of the terrible situations that they have unfortunately come to know all too well. Whether we foster them for a few days or serveral weeks I always grow to love the animals. It is comforting to know that I am making a difference and that they are going on to live happy lives with new loving families.
I think life is all about being happy and finding something you truly believe in to do so. In my opinion, the best way to do this is to get invloved. Whether it is with a sport, a hobby, or a cause, as long as you give it your all the outcome will be thoroughly rewarding.
