Gabriel of Sedona
Gabriel of Secona has focused on environmental activism for more than 20 years. He is concerned about issues that can affect the planet as a whole, but the majority of his efforts are on the environment and the rights of the people in Sedona, Arizona and around the world. Gabriel of Sedona is extremely concerned about water quality and how corporations that leak chemicals into the ground and water supply are affecting the environment. He worked tirelessly to oppose the work scheduled for the Bella Terra property, which would contaminate Oak Creek and the shallow aquifers that provided the local community with fresh drinking water. He has also joined forces with The Red Rock Rural Association and the Sierra Club to reduce a development that was scheduled to develop 54 acres in Sedona. The groups were able to reduce the development to just 109 homes. Additionally, Gabriel of Sedona helped convince the developers and builders to use building practices that lessened the impact on the environment. However, Gabriel of Sedona's most important accomplishment was fighting the installation of a bridge across Oak Creek at Red Rock Crossing. The area is known for its natural beauty and its view of Cathedral Rock and attracts thousands of visitors each year. Gabriel of Sedona successfully argued that the bridge would ruin the pristine, natural beauty of the area, as well as increase traffic.
