Gabriel Vazquez-Galvis

My name is Gabriel Vazquez-Galvis (aka TheBarbarian82). This blog will focus mainly on my personal interests and life experiences. I am a rather eclectic individual. I have many diverse interests.

I am a native New Yorker. But, I moved to South Florida with my family in 2004. New York is still in my heart. I live with my husband and our dog, Daisy. I meet my husband only 2 months after moving to South Florida and we have been together for about 8 years (2004-present (2012)). We married on July 3, 2012. Many of my personal interest are shared by my husband, which is what makes us a great match. I am extremely close to my mother and sisters, whom have influenced me greatly in life.

I am a bibliophile. I love books. I love the smell of them…I love the whole concept of them. I wish I could read more, but unfortunately finding the time is not easy. Hence, I have a stack of “To Read” books that grows continuously. My love of books is also partly due to my love of writing. I am not particularly good at writing, but I love doing it none the less.

Spiritually, I call myself a Naturalistic Pagan. Meaning I honor and acknowledge the divine in Nature…BUT only on a purely scientific basis. If it isn’t supported by scientific FACT I do not subscribe to it. Anything that is not rooted in scientific fact, I can still appreciate in a strictly artistic way.
