Gaby (Gabriel) Ory is the Chief Executive Advisor and 5D Chairman of SMARTIFICIAL™ RESEARCH & TECHNOLOGY, a decentralized R&D Innovation Network and Accelerator Portfolio for Artificial Intelligence Startup ventures.
As an accomplished executive he brings a strong track record in C-level roles, both domestically and internationally, in the areas of mergers & acquisitions, finance and administration and auditing.
Prior to SMARTIFICIAL™ Gaby was involved in several entrepreneurial ventures. He is also an equity partner and serves on the Board of Shinshuri Foundation. He was CFO at Oracles of Truth Academy which focuses on online higher STEM education. He’s conducted business in China which included meetings with Senior government officials and he served as President of Integrated Lodging Services, a startup technology company specializing in layover management services for airlines.
Gaby’s corporate experience focused on mergers and acquisitions, and international business reviews in addition to CFO roles. He was CFO, Controller, Treasurer and Corporate Officer for CSC Canada in Montreal and Toronto. At Computer Sciences Corporation (CSC) he was CFO, Director of Finance and Administration for the New York State Medicaid contract responsible for annual payments to Medicaid providers of more than $18 billion. As chief negotiator he led the successful effort resulting in a five-year contract extension. In addition to domestic acquisition assignments, business reviews in France and Belgium were conducted in French and English. Gaby participated in the due diligence of General Dynamics Information Technology Division which resulted in a ten year, $3 billion outsourcing contract. He was in Sydney on the due diligence team when CSC reacquired CSC Australia.
Gaby holds a Bachelor of Science degree from McGill University, Montreal, Canada, After pursing studies in the Chartered Accountancy Program at McGill University, he joined the audit firm of Campbell, Sharp, Nash & Field. Over six years, he conducted audits of major entities; financial, energy, commercial, retail, healthcare, municipal government, and other business sectors.
Community involvement is important to Gaby as is his Alma Mater, McGill University. He's been recognized as a leadership donor and has established a bursary in the Engineering Faculty. He is an Executive Mentor for graduate students at McGill’s Dobson Centre for Entrepreneurship (Business review in San Francisco).
