Hi! I am Heather Gaddis! On-line courses are new for me, and a lot of my academic energy right now is being consumed with technology mastery rather than actual course content. Taking the on-line course orientation, Intro to Google Chrome, taking my 1st on-line quiz, doing About Me, etc; working between my IPad, IMac, and laptop have been big challenges that haven't left me with a lot of energy to describe myself in a "unique and relatable" way. And I have a sneaking suspicion that each introduction that I write for each class sounds more pretentious than the last.

I apologize for the above and would like to express my gratitude to my fellow students who did the assignment better than I, you all sound genuinely interesting and dynamic! And how much we have in common!

Currently I am an UMSL literacy fellow, working with 1st and 2nd graders as I seek to get my Secondary School English Teaching Certificate. Although I have been motivated by the idea of working with International Students, more mature and often poly-lingual; I have been surprised at how much satisfaction I have found in discovering the buried treasure of ability in some of the learning disabled children I have met. Truly all lives are fascinating!
