Gopi Adhikari

Satghumti,Thamel,Kathmandu,Nepal

However I was named with ‘Uttam Adhikari’ by priest, my mother nicknamed me as ‘Gopi’ which I love to be called.
I am from 54 kilometers west of Kathmandu, from the village called http://www.coldfeetadventure.com/danda-gaon-village-cultural-trek.html in the Dhading district. Actually I spent my childhood days in Kathmandu as I moved to Kathmandu from my village after my parents passed away in 1980 due to illness. Irrevocable void of my parents in my life left me with loads of challenges. Truly, my childhood taught me more than my innocence and cherishing memories, and it’s the STRUGGLE for survival! I was only 8 when I started to struggle for my life in Kathmandu.
After completing my schooling in 1988, I started this job with the help of friend Kumar Thapa Magar’s father, who used to work for Intrek, the local trekking company in Nepal. I started my job as Porter in 15th of October 1989 with Intrek and worked there for two seasons. In 2nd of March 1991, I moved into another company called Himalayan Encounters and continued working there till 15th of May 2007. I also had managed to pursue my Trekking Guide Training from Nepal Academy of Tourism and Hotel Management (NATHM) after I started working with H.E. I really feel great that I got chance to work with Anthony Lioncel John, the owner of H.E., having such a vast knowledge in Tourism industry. 16 years of long experience in Tourism sector with the experienced man with professional expertise opened up new horizons for me which has driven me to start my own Travel Company. In 1999, I met Neil Cornelius Griffin during his second visit to Nepal. Neil Griffin is the Head Scout Leader of Wimbledon Edge Hill Explorer Scout Unit. I got opportunity to assist him during several expeditions including Nicaragua, Cuba, Ethiopia and 3 Expeditions in Nepal. We together have built a Toilet and several Classrooms and Garden to the Government School in Sermathang in 2002 and built a Sports Center for Children from Benithat and Bisal Tar in 2006 and built a Children Home for deaf kids in Nuwakot in 2010. Neil is my mentor in Scouting. With him, I have learned how to organize the expeditions to Teenagers and Young School Groups. At present, I have my own Cold Feet Adventure Company in Nepal from 2nd of February 2009 providing all kinds of Adventure activities especially in Trekking sector in Nepal, India and
