GAF Timberline Business
Wayne, NJ
The Timberline series of shingles produced by roofing manufacturer GAF has earned several awards in recent years. It holds top ratings from home builders and contractors in shingle quality and has been named the most-recommended brand among high-end remodelers. GAF and its Premium Designer line of Timberline shingles have also won the Architects' Choice For Excellence Award twice, while GAF won the 2011 Innovation Award for its asphalt roof shingles, the 2011 Product Innovation Award for its EverGuard Extreme TPO product, and the Builder's Choice Award.
One of the more recent additions to GAF's family of shingles is the Timberline Cool Series. Designed to help prevent high attic temperatures, which can make a home hotter and increase air conditioning bills in the summer, the shingles in the Cool Series use roofing granules with especially high reflectance, keeping heat off of the roof and out of the attic. On a day when temperatures reach 94 degrees Fahrenheit, a conventional roof will rise to a temperature of 160 degrees in the sun and heat the attic to 112 degrees. A roof with GAF Timberline Cool Series shingles on it will only heat up to 139 degrees, keeping the attic temperature at 102 degrees and reducing the load on air conditioners in the house below.
Homeowners and builders who choose GAF and its Timberline products can trust in the company's long history and industry-leading size. GAF has been around since 1886, sells nearly $3 billion in roofing products annually, and has trained more than 125,000 professionals in the installation of its products.
