Gailla Deiters has been a certified colon therapist since May 1989 through the Wood Hygienic Institute, the first state licensed school of colon therapy in the U.S. Additionally, she is certified through the International Association of Colon-Hydrotherapy, (I-ACT). Gailla's other credits include the following courses with The Institute for Functional Medicine and Metagenics Educational Programs; Nutritional Management of the Underlying Causes of Chronic Disease; New Approaches to Anti-Aging: Nutritional Neuroendocrinology; Understanding The Origins & Applying Advanced Nutritional Strategies for Autoimmune Diseases; Mastering the 8 Core Factors of Optimal Wellness and Health Restoration; Improving Health Outcomes through Nutritional Support for Metabolic Biotransformation. A highlight of her career has been with her privilege of being mentored by the late Dr. Khem Shahani. Dr. Shahani was a professor at the University of Nebraska and had written over 200 scientific journals that were peer-reviewed and published. Most of these involved studies on probiotics such as acidophilus. He served for 14 years on the World Health Organization as an expert panelist. Additionally he received numerous awards worldwide on his achievements. Gailla's relationship with Dr. Shahani has provided her with her own private label probiotics, Quintestinal, which contains 5 active strains of bacteria. Quintestinal is widely used by many health care professionals in their practices, such as osteopaths, chiropractors and other colon therapists.
