Joao Galdino Mello de Souza
I was born in Belo Horizonte, MG, Brazil and lived there until 2002 when we have moved to Sao Paulo. I am a urban guy and I do like to live in big cities full of options to play, learn and be in touch with different cultures.
I have been working with technology and Internet since 90's. My current interest areas are IT Service Management including all frameworks and tools to keep IT operations working near maximum efficiency. I like to help other people to grow and love to solve difficult problems. I like new challenges and challenging jobs and to deal with different skills and people. Currently, I am responsible for define, improve and manage IT processes and quality assurance best practices at UOL (www.uol.com.br). I have bachelor and master degrees in Computer Science (UFMG) and some IT certifications as well: ITIL Service Manager, ISO20000 Consultant/Manager, Certified Scrum Master. Since 2006, I have been helping some folks to create the CMG (www.cmg.org) chapter in Brazil. Since 2007, I have been marking IT Service Manager exams in Portuguese for Exin (www.exin-exams.com).
I'm a dedicate father and husband. I love to see my two daughters developing themselves and talk to them about everything. The father's job is the most difficult job that I have to do in my lifetime. It's hard sometimes to say no for the people I care most, but when I saw the results of teaching them it worths.
I my free time I like to swim (training from monday to friday 3.000m per day and attending some open water swimming competitions on weekends), to read (anything: books, magazines, newspapers, blogs, medicine instructions, you name it), to help other people to achieve their goals or to solve their problems.
