Galen Williams

Galen Williams is the CEO of SkyyGreens, which is an angel-backed start-up based in Chicago, IL. SkyyGreens specializes in indoor food production, particularly, hydroponics. Hydroponics is a subset of hydroculture and it is a method used to grow plants by using mineral nutrient solutions, using just water and no soil. SkyyGreens is also known for being Chicago’s first firm to obtain an indoor farm license. As the CEO, Mr. Williams has been instrumental in obtaining that license and has also helped SkyyGreens obtain in-kind legal services and equity from top level venture financing firm.

Galen Williams has a BS in Commerce from DePaul University, Chicago and an MBA in Management from the University of Chicago. Mr. Williams came to SkyyGreens with 18 years of professional experience in the business and financial sectors. His experience as a Global Wealth Advisor for Morgan Stanley, for example, where he worked to advise and assist angel investors, business owners and entrepreneurs, has helped SkyyGreens receive the level of angel-financing it currently has. Mr. Williams developed strategic business plans and shaped SkyyGreens’ customer development as well as their marketing approach.

Mr. Williams has also used his experience in finance and angel investments to co-found Hyde Park Angels. Hyde Park Angels is the largest angel network in Chicago and they work with high net worth individuals, academics and global executives to increase angel investment in emerging technologies. Hyde Park Angels works in partnership with the University of Chicago, Booth School of Business and it was founded in 2006. Galen Williams served as its first Executive Director.
