Galina Kalashnikova

Galina has a degree in journalism from the Moscow State University. She has worked for over 20 years at Channel One of Central Television in the USSR, and later Russia. She was the creator, director and lead presenter of the show "Avtograf" (autograph), later called "Umniki i umnitzi" (geniuses), a quiz show for kids similar to jeopardy. Later she moved to the show "Vzglyad", and then worked as a political journalist. She has interviewed for Channel One Mikhail Gorbachev, Boris Yeltsin, Mary Robinson, Vigdís Finnbogadóttir and Lech Wałęsa. Over the course of 5 years she has represented the germain radio station Deutsche Welle in Poland. Presently she lives and works in Los Angeles.

Галина Калашникова закончила факультет журналистики МГУ в 1977 году. Больше 20 лет работала на первом канале Центрального телевидения. Была инициатором создания литературной викторины "Автограф" (впоследствии - "Умники и умницы"), была ее редактором и ведущей. Перешла в программу "Взгляд", затем занялась политической журналистикой. Автор интервью с Михаилом Горбачевым, Борисом Ельциным, Мэри Робинсон, Вигдис Финнбогадоттир, Лехом Валенсой. В течение 5 лет представляла радиостанцию "Немецкая Волна" в Польше. В настоящее время живет и работает в Америке.
