I spend my free time traveling, as I am a full time employee at the University of Georgia and a student. I’ll just add that I was hired as a research professional in the Biochemistry department here after completing my Associates degree in Biotechnology, and moved to Athens about a year ago now. I was born and raised about an hour from Athens, but have spent a lot of time traveling to California since my family lived there. I would always fly there, which recently I'm not too fond of air traveling because it is quite stressful. During all of this flying, I would skip over many states that I have never visited in person or experienced the nature and environment. I'd also like to add I'm a huge fan of nature, as my parents practically raised me camping and backpacking since I was a baby.
I’ve camped up the coast of California which was one of my favorite experiences and I highly recommend it to anyone. This was done just with a car, tent, and cooking supplies, of course. A couple years back my mother and I invested and converted a camper van to travel whenever we please, mostly during my semester breaks. The first road trip with the van was when I was completing my associate’s degree a couple years back. We traveled from here to the final destination point being Arizona. We camped through many states: Mississippi, Arkansas, Texas, New Mexico, and Arizona. We stopped at a few national parks with the Grand Canyon, White Sands, and Petrified Forest being the most fascinating. I also highly suggest to visit these because they are quite amazing!
Most recently, as in this past May, I traveled to Colorado, Arizona, and all the way to California just to visit it again since my family has moved away from there. My favorite part of this trip was definitely Rocky Mountain National Park, and of course the Southern California coast. Obviously, it seems I have only shown love to the west coast, which is true, so any suggestions for the East Coast is greatly appreciated!
