Gradually, all my boyhood dreams have faded under the harsh spotlight of real life, and I have not found fame and fortune as a footballer, astronomer or ufologist(?!), until at the not quite so tender age of forty-one I have one remaining - to beguile, scare, moisten the eyes, dry the throat, quicken the heart and most of all entertain people via the written word.
For most of those forty-three years I have been writing in one form or another, have won a number of awards, had stories of various length, ambition and quality printed in assorted magazines, publications and anthologies, but have only recently been able to write - well type, the magical words The End on a full length manuscript.
I am in the process of getting this to the market, and as a consequence am having to learn more new skills more quickly than I ever even attempted to at school. Hence this site.
I have two more books desperate to be told, in two very different genres. After a couple of months of procrastination/deliberation I have embarked on Novel No. 2 - another even darker thriller than its younger brother, and the comedy one can wait. I have also written a children's book and will be releasing that under a different as of yet undecided name.
Despite being a slow (thorough!) reader it is almost an obsession with me, and I try and read as ridiculously an eclectic mix as possible. One of my biggest fears being that I am unlikely to live to a ripe enough age to read all the books that I know I should do.
I have just moved to the Singaore with my two adorable cats and possibly even more adorable wife with the incontrovertible knowledge that the music, the weather and certainly my football team Ipswich Town were all considerably better in the early 80’s than they are now.
Thanks for dropping by, if you get a chance please have a look at my website, or look me up on twitter.
