Paris Gamble

My name is Paris Gamble. I am a married father of two children.

I started out as an Electrical Engineering major and obtained a BS in Liberal Arts and a MS in Management Science. I am unusual in that I am employed in a STEM occupation without holding a STEM degree.

I was a math and science geek growing up. My dream was to be the first African-American astronaut. As a kid I was a very good math and science student. During my 7th - 12th grade years I competed in the Oklahoma City and Oklahoma State Science and Engineering Fairs. I won more awards during that time frame than any other student in the Oklahoma City Public School System.

I believe you must find a “hook” to engage students to pursue STEM careers. Not all kids “love” math and science just because.
