Andrew Garcia

Andrew R. Garcia is a Cuban American born in Hialeah, FL. Cuban Mother 19 and Cuban father 20 were very young and had to work a lot to mantain the family. Andrew was raised by his grandparents with the financial help from his parents. At 10 years of age his father was sent away to a Federal prison where it impacted Andrew's life negatively. He was always an honor roll child but after the bad news he started rebelling and didn't quite know how to act. As a child he got beat up a few times for being a loud mouth. He didn't attend much middle school barely making it passed to high school. The summer before he started high school Andrew's grand father informed him he was a good boxer in Cuba. That influenced him into joining a Boxing gym that summer but didn't take boxing serious and quit after a month of training. Shortly after beginning high school he was quickly introduced to drugs. Police and trouble was often around. Thankfully he became good friends with a group of amateur boxers who went to school with him and inspired him to start fighting. He trained and fought amateur for almost 2 years after then quiting due to not being as good as he expected. After his mother kicked him out at 15 because of his issues and at 16 dropping out of high school he went back to living with his grandparents making it hard for them to shape him up since they were so old yet accepted him the way he was. He started working in construction as well as washing 18 wheelers and selling drugs but his family never quit on him until they convinced him to jump back on track. He started training again rapidly trying to catch up on a lot he had missed out on. He had a few more amateur fights even though he was successfully winning he quit again at almost 18. A couple months later his father was released from prison and they reunited. His father started trying to lead Andrew down a better path and helped Andrew get a good job at Headquarter Toyota where he worked at for half the year until he ended up realizing he didn't want to do that for the rest of his life. Finally while getting back on track he joined a great gym named Kangaroo Boxing gym and trains with friend and team mate Abel Gonzalez who's father is there trainer "Ameth Gonzalez". Andrew shortly gained many fights and has kept his loyalty with his team. Andrew does not miss one day of training. #CIK #AOTR
