Gard Wayt

Gard is president of Wayt Insurance Agency, Inc. and of Benefit Choices, Inc. He is also Executive Director of the I-49 International Coalition. Active for many years in various charitable, church, civic and political organizations, Gard is currently president of Shreveport Charter Schools, Inc. (operating Linwood Public Charter School), president of The Rotary Club of Shreveport, president of Caddo Career & Technology Center Foundation, and president of Louisiana Conference United Methodist Men. He also serves as Treasurer of the Strategic Action Council of NW Louisiana (a $15M double-bottom-line fund for developing underserved areas of the region), and as a Board Member of the United Methodist Men Foundation. Gard is an active member of Ellerbe Road UMC in Shreveport, where he serves on the Church Council as immediate past president and as director of service. He has three grown children and six grandchildren, his greatest treasures.
