Gareth Hancock

Gareth Hancock is a conductor, pianist and vocal coach with over 35 years of professional experience. He has worked extensively throughout the UK with many of the leading opera houses and orchestras, together with seasons at the Bayreuth Festival, Opera de Lyon, Opera de Rouen and Opera Northern Ireland.
Gareth studied Music at Clare College, Cambridge, where he was a choral scholar, and post-graduate accompaniment at The Royal Academy of Music, graduating with The Recital Diploma.
Since then he has worked as a coach, accompanist and conductor with all Britain’s major opera companies.
Conducting highlights include Alfie Boe's debut album, Madame Butterfly for Opera North and Glyndebourne on tour, Der Rosenkavalier & La damnation de Faust for Glyndebourne Festival. In addition he has recorded Puccini Arias with Chandos.
As recitalist he has appeared at all the major London venues and throughout Europe and the USA, and has broadcast for BBC Radio 3, Classic FM, Radio France and BBC Radio Wales.
