Gareth Long
CTO, Architect, and Software Manger in London, United Kingdom
Hi, I'm Gareth!
I've always been obsessed with pulling things apart to see how they work, and make them better, which is a fascination that has never left me.
This kicked off an interesting career. I started a consultation business when I was 18, with clients such as ARM, this lead me in to my first jobs, firstly as a developer and team lead in the gaming industry, through to mobile platform development lead/project management roles in the UK, Singapore and Germany, at Sendo, Motorola, Symbian, bringing to market many successful handsets, Texas Instruments, Intel, then on to smart card/wearable and digital crypto-currency design at TransaXiom, sports watch/band/fitness device development and security at TomTom, and building an IoT platform and associated products as CTO at Smarter App,ications.
I've worked on several side-projects, such as porting Linux to Hitachi SH processors, console emulators for set-top boxes, and was an early collaborator to the MAME arcade emulation project, and a founder member of the MESS team.
I'm now Chief Technology Officer at GlucoRx, a fantastic opportunity to exercise everything I've learned and experienced up to this point. I’ve brought to market an amazing, secure, IoT Platform and associated devices.
I live with my family, parrots and dogs, just outside London, and enjoy video games, gadget collecting, flying my drones, and VR.
