I am the Founder and Managing Director of Aquanue.
As an Australian-based entrepreneur I have 25 years experience in marketing, communications and project delivery and in the successful commercialization of several business models. I recently exited an event ticketing technology business I founded in 1999 (via a sale to a major client), having completed four years of successful R&D and subsequent product commercialization. We provided ticketing services and technology solutions to some of Australia's most popular events, festivals and venues.
For 35 years our family business has been involvemed with various primary production activities, including the production of Quandongs (an Australian native fruit), lucerne hay and seed, angora goats for mohair and meat, and show-dogs.
More recently I joined the 'Blue Revolution'.
With the world's pupulation haviong passed 7 billion, increasing per-capita fish consumption, and collapsing wild catch fisheries, the only way to fill the growing seafood supply gap is aquaculture. Aquaculture is the world's fastest growing food production sector with an average annual growth rate of 6.6 percent, and it continues to outpace population growth.
I established Aquanue in 2009. It is a new business formed to commercialize new aquaculture technology to supply high quality seafood products to meet growing global demand.
I have focused for the past three years solely on developing the Aquanue opportunity and have conducted extensive research into the live seafood production and trade industries including multiple field research trips to China, Hong Kong and Singapore.
I presented at the Global AgInvesting Asia 2011 conference in Singapore on the subject of "Why Aquaculture Makes Sense As An Investment", and at the 2012 conference I spoke on the aquaculture panel about the benefits of investing in closed recirculating aquaculture ventures. I am available as a speaker on aquaculture investment, food security, and similar topics.
