Garnet Clarence is an up-and-coming creative-sector professional, currently in his fifth and final year of the innovative Creative Industries program at Ryerson University. Garnet has been trained in project management, HR basics, introductory IP law, video game development, television production, and introductory finance.

This skillset reflects the program’s goal of uniting creative sector theory with business fundamentals to create professionals who can reconcile the two key halves of a creative enterprise.

Garnet is currently doing exactly that as one half of a two-person team working to launch an innovative platform for Toronto-based interactive-digital media. Using interpersonal communications and ideation, he has taken a beautiful artistic idea and shaped it into something more feasible with business potential.

Past enterprises include successfully producing and directing a one-act play, writing creative backstory for Looking Glass Adventures (an escape room business), and organizing and recording the first season of an unreleased podcast.

Garnet is also an avid tabletop gaming fan with 11 years of Dungeons and Dragons adventuring under his belt. He personally recommends the game to anyone who seeks to increase their ability to problem-solve on the fly.
