As a kid, I always wanted to live on the road. I had dreams of packing up my car and leaving, never to come back again. I enjoyed traveling and seeing new things, and I didn't feel a very strong connection to home. In many ways, I took for granted the people who supported and loved me at home. Over the years, I've gotten many opportunities to see the world and appreciate different cultures and places, and, while those experiences were incredible, they gave me a realization I wasn't expecting: that I love home. I'm very fortunate to have many incredible friends and a very supportive and loving family, and being away from those things showed me how much I rely on and love them. Throughout my life, I have always felt completely accepted by my family and friends, and I never appreciated how lucky I was to have that. At this point in my life, however, I have a newfound love and appreciation for the people I associate home with. While I still am an avid traveler, and I love experiencing new places and cultures, having that appreciation for home makes traveling even sweeter, knowing there is something waiting for me when I get back.
