Garren Katz
THEN-ish: Raised in Battle Creek, Michigan. Attended Western Michigan University, then the University of Edinburgh. Sold roofs, worked in a QC lab at a peppermint distillery, sold woodworking tools across North America, built a little app that was on the was launched at SXSW the year the App Store launched, got ICF certified — all before any of it made sense as a path.
NOW-ish: Founder and Sales & Marketing Director of Millner-Haufen Tool Co., a Nashville-based company 13+ years in market, built on the idea that our grandfathers and great-grandfathers would be proud to own the tools we make.
NOW (for realz): Currently splitting time between Portland, OR and Saltillo, Mexico, where I spend part of the year while my two kids attend school there. Co-parenting two great ones — a daughter with plenty to say and a son right behind her. Clumsily working on my Spanish along the way.
Outside of work and family/my peeps: half marathons, nature, tennis, wine (rarely all at the same time, but sometimes in the same day 😏) Long-time Seahawks season ticket holder, and follow the World Cup wherever it takes me.
I value intentional living and communication and real personal growth. I love to go deep Not chasing a prescribed path — more a life that doesn’t look like everyone else’s.
If any of this overlaps with your world, reach out. until then and always — Go be awesome.
