Garrett Martin

My name is Garrett. I'm 23 years old, live in Concord, NC, and work at The Refuge.

When I was young, I dreamed of the day I would be playing basketball in the NBA, but thankfully God had other plans. I was a senior in high school I had no clue what I was going to do with my life, when God invited me to go to Southeastern University. I said 'yes' that day and haven't looked back since.

After two years of college God openened the doors for me to be a part of the team at The Refuge. Once again I said 'yes' not even knowing what I was getting myself into.

Over the past three years I have had the privelege of speaking to hundreds of middle and high school students, and watching as God has changed so many lives. I get to work with the best church leaders in the nation, and there isn't a day that goes by where I do not learn something. Who knew saying 'yes' to God in high school could have led to so much.

Needless to say, I am still waiting on that phone call from the NBA, but I'm ok if it never comes. I've been on a crazy journey since I first said 'yes' to God, and I can't wait to see where it leads.
