Garrie Hutchinson
Over 35 years Garrie Hutchinson has written for most of Australia’s broadsheets, co-founded a number of theatre companies and magazines, published more than 30 books of poetry, children’s lit, travel, military history, Australian sport and other cultural matters, had half a dozen plays and one opera produced, delivered reams of speeches for Prime Ministers and Premiers including Bob Hawke, John Brumby and lesser mortals, and offered a good deal of advice on public affairs and media to State and Federal Governments.
While he has been occasionally awarded for books and journalism, career highlights are winning an Irish Film Award for a TV commercial (alright, it was directed by Bruce Beresford) and being the answer to a crossword question in the Sunday Age in 2008.

Garrie is writing a book about AnzaCs in the Korean War (there's a 'C' - for Canadians) for Hachette, teaching writing at RMIT University and taking on other media and communications work after along stint in the Victorian public sector.
