Garry McGuire began his time in upper management in January 1996, when he began serving as Vice President of Marketing for Compaq Computer Corporation, since acquired by Hewlett-Packard. He held that role for four years, leaving in April 2000 to join Enterasys Networks, a global provider of network infrastructure solutions, as Chief Marketing Officer. Garry K. McGuire, Jr., moved on to serve as Managing Director of MCG Consulting in 2001, developing business strategies and other solutions for start-ups, advertising agencies, and corporate brands until the end of 2003.
In 2004, Garry McGuire became the President of Gyro International. The company, valued at over $150 million, provided such high-profile clients as Google, American Express, Logitech, and Palm with marketing and advertising services. He led the company until early 2007, when he left to become Chairman of Icon Internet Ventures, a company he still serves on the board of. Garry K. McGuire, Jr., added his currents duties as leader of RMG Networks to his list of responsibilities in early 2009, when venture capital firm Kleiner Perkins recruited him for the role.
