I’m been someone who likes to create something, then learn how it works. Whether that be from doing things like assembling F1/Car inspired lego sets, working on a project at home, or 3D printing something to help me with day to day life, what i’m drawn towards is the critical thinking that goes on behind the scenes when building something. This tendency to find and build solutions to problems is part of what drove me towards engineering.
This eventually, led me to want to know more about the underlying reasons for lift being produced by a wing, what happens to airflow based on geometry differences, and how engineers apply this knowledge to make aircraft more fuel-efficient. Which came to life when I worked on a research project focused on aerodynamic analysis of tandem wings and how vortices from one wing affected the other. Being able to turn abstract concepts into tangible models I could analyze made me think differently about engineering. Now that I am attending UGA, I would like to continue balancing the technical aspects of engineering that I enjoy with the hands-on aspect that has always defined my experience. I am especially interested in aerodynamics, mechanical design, computational modeling, and projects such as being part of UGA motorsports where I can either build or test something.
