Philadelphia, Pennsylvania - April 24, 2012 While filming the second episode of his “Death to Wack Rappers”(D2WR) feature, local musical talent, Khemist ran into a familiar face when he spotted Gary Barbera and the Barbera Cares Bear promoting Barbera’s Autoland in Philadelphia.

“I see we got the mascots on board! Shout out to Gary Barbera. When I can afford a car, I’ll come here and get something nice…” said the aspiring rapper, Khemist after meeting Gary Barbera. Khemist has been building a local buzz with his debut album Puzzle Pieces, recorded with Dilemma of Hello World Music at the legendary Sigma Sound Studios in downtown Philadelphia. An explosive mix of hip-hop and soul. Khemist takes fans through the growing pains of being reared in North Philadelphia to his triumphant journey to one of the most acclaimed HBCUs in the country.

Terence Oliver (born September 15, 1991), better known as Khemist, is an American rapper/songwriter/poet. Following in the rich tradition of Philadelphia natives such as Kenny Gamble, Will Smith, Jill Scott and Black Thought; Khemist began writing music at the age of 14. Citing Lauryn Hill and Nas as his major musical influences, Khemist is destined to become one of the most influential writers of his generation.
