Gary Cox

Gary is a writer and travel consultant based sometimes in Central Europe, and currently in Chicago where he is now conducting Russian language tours of the Windy City through the travel site Excursiopedia. An American with a doctorate in Russian literature, he left a successful academic career as a tenured Professor of Russian Studies to conduct tours in Russia and East Europe and to pursue musical and literary adventures. He created The Odyssey Club, which is prepared to design tours themed around great world literature. While living in Bratislava, Slovakia, he produced a CD for visitors to the Slovak capital, Voices in Bratislava, showcasing classical and folk music linked with sites in Old Town there. Gary is also an accomplished singer, and has coached Russian diction for opera companies, symphony choruses, and professional singers. In the summer of 2014 he put the finishing touches on a novel transcription system for singing Russian, and published it in a Russian diction manual available online.
