Gary Hershorn

From 1985 to April 2014 I was a photographer, editor and manager for the Reuters News Agency. Working for a global news agency allowed me to be a part of news, sports and entertainment coverage throughout the world. I traveled extensively to covering events like Olympic Games, soccer World Cups, Super Bowls, major golf and tennis championships, the Academy Awards and political events like summits and elections. The 2014 Sochi Winter Olympics were the 16th Olympic Games that I covered.

After 21 years as a full time photographer, I became a manager at Reuters in 2000, first running the photo department in the Americas and then coordinating the global sports pictures file starting in 2011. I am well connected to professional sports leagues and governing bodies like FIFA and the IOC. Working for Reuters allowed me to develop my photography, photo editing, logistic planning, budgeting and people managing skills.

Presently I am working for Flipboard as a photo editor in New York.
