A creative, out-of-the-box thinker widely viewed as an innovative strategist, Gary LaFever is a "recovering attorney" with a technical background and penchant for seeing where the puck will be.
Since 2012, Gary has been working at Anonos on developing technology to balance conflicting interests between maximizing data value and protecting data privacy and security.
Gary is a co-inventor of ten granted U.S. patents with twenty additional patents pending in the United States and internationally. Prior to launching Anonos, Gary was co-founder and Chief Corporate Development Officer at FTEN – the award winning financial data risk management company nominated for the 2009 National Medal of Technology and Innovation, the United States’ highest honor for technological achievement, and recognized by Inc. magazine as the fastest growing software company two years in a row - 2008 and 2009.
With an obsession for challenging problems from all angles and the vision to see what's next, Gary has a long track record of innovation. This includes co-inventing FTEN technology that made real-time data risk management of financial markets possible and FinQloud, the award-winning big data joint initiative between Amazon Web Services (AWS) and NASDAQ. In 2010, NASDAQ acquired FTEN, where its solutions today form an integral part of real-time data risk management technology around the globe for financial markets.
Prior to FTEN, Gary launched numerous innovative and successful Internet ventures acclaimed for new and novel approaches to everything from user-generated content to online communities of interest. This included cofounding Caritas Concepts in 1990, WomenCONNECT.com in 1996 and PlatinumLounge.com in 2002.
Further spearheading technology advancements, Gary also served as CEO of Internet2Anywhere in 2000-2001, the Israeli technology company that pioneered technology extending the Internet beyond the desktop and supporting mobile transactions long before "3G" telephony capabilities.
Gary is a former partner at the major international law firm of Hogan Lovells. Gary began his professional career at Accenture - the multinational management consulting, technology services, and outsourcing company, following receipt of his undergraduate degree in management information systems and computer science.
Gary lives on a ranch outside of Boulder Colorado with his wife and assorted animal members of their family.
