Gary Pagar
An experienced investment banker, Gary Pagar earned his Bachelor’s degree from the University of Rochester in New York and studied business at the graduate division of the Wharton School at the Universdity of Pennsylvania before beginning his career as an Associate for Merrill Lynch & Co. From Merrill Lynch, Mr. Pagar joined Oppenheimer & Co. Inc. as an Associate; after two years, he was promoted to Vice President. Gary Pagar spent three years with Oppenheimer before continuing his career with the Tribeca Group, a private middle-market real estate and retail investment and merchant banking firm. As General Partner and Managing Director of the Tribeca Group, Gary Pagar oversaw hundreds of millions of dollars in principal investments in retail companies and supervised the establishment of two commercial aircraft leasing funds. Mr. Pagar negotiated acquisitions and was responsible for the direct financial and managerial oversight of principal investments in publicly traded and closely held retail businesses. Gary Pagar also forged strategic alliances with major investment firms in London and Hong Kong. Following seven years with Tribeca, Gary Pagar served as Chairman of MedFirst Healthcare Inc., an affiliate of Goldman Sachs. During his eight years with MedFirst Healthcare, he led the company’s real estate and financial management, strategic growth, investor relations, budgeting, and reporting and control. Mr. Pagar helped grow the company to span four states and generate $100 million in annual revenue. After MedFirst, Gary Pagar joined Profile Media Group, where he served as Director and Interim Chief Financial Officer for an independent film company, as well as an Interim Chief Operating Officer and Chief Financial Officer for an independent record label. In these positions, he provided comprehensive services in investment banking, restructuring and turnaround management, and consulting to help improve and expand operations. Mr. Pagar then joined Westwood Capital, LLC, where as Managing Director he was responsible for the supervision and execution of mergers and acquisitions, client origination, and corporate finance. Since 2007, Gary Pagar has served as Managing Director for Cappello Group, Inc., an investment banking firm headquartered in Los Angeles, California. Gary Pagar served two terms as a member of the University of Rochester Trustees' Council.
