Gary Perron has built a prominent career in Canada’s investment industry, spanning more than four decades of leadership, independent thinking, and consistent results. His work encompasses private wealth asset management, board service for public companies, and the founding of both public and private enterprises that have achieved lasting success.

He has served as CEO, managing director, portfolio manager, and business founder, shaping the principles of independent wealth advisory in Western Canada. His approach shaped standards in client focus, accountability, and independence.

His financial career began in 1977 at BMO Nesbitt Burns (and predecessor Burns Fry) in Calgary, where he spent 36 years refining a disciplined, adaptable, and accountable investment philosophy.

In the 1990s, he co-founded a Calgary-based boutique fund management company that expanded nationally, with offices in Calgary and Toronto. Known for delivering risk-adjusted returns and managing capital effectively, the firm positioned itself as a serious competitor to traditional bank-owned investment houses.

In 2013, he established Perron & Partners Wealth Management (PPWM), focusing on high-net-worth clients, family offices, foundations, and business owners. The firm stayed independent and launched Kipling Funds, known for long-term performance.

In 2017, he co-founded a marina and dealership group that has grown into Canada’s largest freshwater network, operating 20 marinas and 11 dealerships. This expansion reflects his ability to lead large-scale ventures outside traditional markets.

He holds a Bachelor of Commerce (Honors) from the University of Manitoba, earned his CFA designation in 1984, and completed the Institute of Corporate Directors program in 2015. In 2009, he founded a charitable foundation that has contributed more than $5 million to registered charities in Calgary.

Under his leadership, the team at Perron & Partners Wealth Management (Calgary Cumberland Private Wealth) has earned Canadian Hedge Fund Awards nominations in 2022, 2023, and 2024 for the Kipling Funds, a 2024 Advisory Team of the Year (Under 10 staff) Award of Excellence, a 2023 5-Star Advisory Team Honor, and a 2025 Wealth Management Award.

Throughout his career, Gary Perron has remained committed to independence, client-focused service, and strategies built to perform through changing markets, continuing to demonstrate what independent advisory can achieve in Canada.
