Gary Schmidt

New York, New York

Gary Schmidt spent a long career as an academic and professor before moving into his true passions: spirituality and personal growth. A graduate of Harvard University and the University of California, Berkeley. Gary wrote, published, and researched extensively in the fields of English Renaissance literature and history, but was always most interested in the way myths and stories combine with psychology to give us insight into our deepest selves. He is currently developing a unique platform to bring together the truths of myth, spirituality, and evolution in an accessible multimedia format. His influences include Carl Jung, Hermann Hesse, Joseph Campbell, and Karen Armstrong. Gary has taught at Harvard University, the University of California, Boston University, Stanford University, and other prestigious institutions. At One Spirit Interfaith Seminary, Gary embarked on the spiritual path that would change the course of his life.
