Gary Talarico
Gary M. Talarico is a financial services executive with more than 25 years of investment and leveraged buyout experience. Gary M. Talarico was appointed as Managing Director of Sun Capital Partners, Inc., a private investment firm, in 2004. Gary M. Talarico managed the New York and Tokyo, Japan offices. At Sun Capital Partners, Inc., Gary M. Talarico’s specialty was investing in bankrupt and underperforming companies with $50 million to $3 billion in sales. Gary M. Talarico’s leadership qualities, coupled with his private equity and investment banking expertise, Gary Talarico was responsibel for acquiring many well-known regional and national companies to the firm's portfolio, including Boston Market Corporation, Village Pantry/Worsley stores, ShopKo, Marsh Supermarkets, Inc., and Friendly's. Before lending his knowledge and experience to Sun Capital Partners, Inc., Gary M. Talarico was hired by BT Alex. Brown as Managing Director of BT Asia Securities. BT Alex. Brown was eventually absorbed by Deutsche Bank, and Gary M. Talarico became the Global Corporate Finance Head in Japan, responsible for Investment Banking, real Estate principal Investment and Private Equity. Gary M. Talarico started his financial career with Lehman Brothers, where he was employed for 15 years. Gary M. Talarico is an Advisory Board Member of The Johns Hopkins School of Advanced International Studies (SAIS) in Washington, D.C. Fluent in Japanese, Gary M. Talarico is also a member of the Board of Directors the Japan Society in New York. Gary M. Talarico graduated from Illinois State University, where he earned a Bachelor’s degree in Sociology and a Master’s degree in Political Science. Gary M. Talarico also attended the Paul H. Nitze School of Advanced International Studies at The Johns Hopkins University in Washington, D.C., where he received his Master’s degree in International Relations. Gary M. Talarico lives in New York City with his wife, Linda Filardi, and their two children.
