Gary Yurt

An entrepreneur and self-starter, Gary Yurt of Prospect, Kentucky, possesses experience in all elements of safety management, including corporate environmental, health, and safety review; business continuity planning; and regulatory compliance. Formerly employed as a senior-level safety manager at the General Electric Company and Borden Chemical, Inc. (now known as Momentive Specialty Chemicals Inc.), he founded his own business, Industrial Safety & Training Services, LLC, in 2002. Through Industrial Safety & Training Services, Gary Yurt and his staff provide all manner of safety and emergency response training to more than 30 clients located around the country.

Gary Yurt founded the firm with the objective of providing strategic safety consulting to companies and organizations operating in power generation, construction, automotive manufacturing, education, hospital management, chemical production, and other industries. He and his seven-member staff specialize in compliance review and training to meet standards set forth by the U.S. Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), U.S. Department of Transportation (DOT), and National Fire Protection Association. Specifically, Gary Yurt and his staff provide a range of services that include construction site management, written safety development, accident investigation, emergency action plan review and creation, and OSHA and DOT citation assistance. Every member of Industrial Safety & Training Services possesses direct experience in responding to and overseeing rescue and cleanup in hazardous substance spills, high- and low-angle rescues, and confined space rescues. Gary Yurt and his staff’s background knowledge in these areas, as well as their expertise in adult education, make them ideally suited to conducting training sessions for employees and for corporate health and safety teams.
